Nata, a village in Botswana, has had great success at reducing the HIV infection from mother to child during pregnancy. There had been reduction in the numbers of HIV infected children since the introduction of the programe of Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission of HIV infection (P.M.T.C.T). Pregnant women are getting tested at the initial registration of pregnancy in the Nata Clinic either voluntary or by introduction from the health work. According to the program coordinators all pregnant mothers are very happy to join the program. Check out their blog for updates.
